And it feels so free to be this direction again”
Those lines from Troll for Trout’s anthem, “Gettin’ Out of Town,” capture the spirit of the band’s colorful 27-year history–a legacy that’s earned the Michigan band a diehard following and spawned an impressive trove of acclaimed recordings. Michael Crittenden, founding member and chief songwriter, best sums it up this way: “Troll for Trout has always been about a lifestyle. That excited feeling of leaving work early on a Friday afternoon..pointing your vehicle North where there’s no schedule. It’s about camping, cottaging, fishing, canoeing, hiking, cooking outside, cocktail hour with good friends, good conversation by a campfire, river paths, reflecting, reading, and relaxing. It’s about finding and reconnecting with the peace that resides in all of us, but gets buried by the day to day grind.”
